Hen weekends, milestone birthdays, family reunions, corporate retreats and wellness weekends — exclusive hire of the whole Hideaway, sleeps up to 20. From €1,150 per night.
The Hideaway is a small glamping site in Ture, just outside Muff Village on the Inishowen Peninsula. Four glamping pods tucked into enchanting gardens, a three-bedroom 1895 Shore House overlooking Lough Foyle, a covered hot tub, a fire pit, the Shebeen, and an ancient fairy path winding through the grounds. We're fifteen minutes from Derry city, five minutes from The Muff Liquor Company, 20 minutes from Ballyliffin Golf Club and right at the start of the Wild Atlantic Way.
People find us in different ways — some come for a couple of nights as a couple, some book the Shore House with their best friends, some take the whole site for a hen weekend or a 60th. Whatever brought you here, the gates close behind you and the rest of the world feels a bit further away.
Stay in a pod or the Shore House
Book individual pods or the Shore House for a couple's break, a weekend with friends, a small family stay or a Wild Atlantic Way road-trip stop. You'll share the gardens, the hot tub and the Shebeen with our other guests during your stay. Four pods sleep up to 3 each, the Shore House sleeps up to 8. Two-night minimum, year-round. From €120 per pod per night.

The whole site closed to other guests — pods, Shore House, hot tub, function room, gardens and Shebeen are all yours. Sleeps up to 20. Four glamping pods at dusk at The Hideaway Muff, Donegal, with warm interior lighting

Four named pods set into the gardens — Rowan Tree, Cherry Blossom, Sleepy Lavender and Daisy Chain — each with a king-size bed and a single, warm pine interiors and dreamcatchers along the curve of the ceiling. The Shore House is a restored 1895 period home with a Stanley range, sunroom over Lough Foyle, three bedrooms sleeping up to eight.
Around them: a seven-berth covered hot tub with Bluetooth speaker, the Shebeen (our BYOB social hut — pool table, dart board, karaoke machine, wood-burning stove, basically your own pub for the weekend), the Wee Ceili House with its open fire and pizza oven, a BBQ, and enchanting gardens with a hawthorn fairy tree, an old healing well, a wildlife pond and an ancient fairy path.
It's a screen-free Shore House and a proper craic Shebeen — the slow part of the weekend and the loud part of the weekend, all on one site.
"IF YOU DON'T BOOK THIS NOW, YOU'LL REGRET IT LATER. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away. It truly was a magical weekend away. The setting is so peaceful and quiet, unlike anything I've experienced before. But the real star of the show has to be the Hideaway pub — it became the heart of our stay."

"We had the most amazing stay here and honestly didn't want to leave. Gráinne and Pat were wonderful hosts — so kind, caring and welcoming, and you can truly see the love and effort they put into every detail of the place. If you are looking for somewhere peaceful, magical, romantic and relaxing to completely switch off, this is perfect."

"What an amazing stay. We hired out the entire place to host a 60th birthday. They had just opened up a function room which we were able to use to host our 40 party guests. There is also a bar which we all ended up in at the end of the night for a more cosy experience. The hosts Gráinne and Pat were so helpful and warm."

"Absolutely hidden gem of a place in Muff, would recommend to everyone. The place is so peaceful, like you're in a time capsule in another world — the grounds, the hot tub, the fairy walkway, the lights all lit up at night time, just a magical place."

The Hideaway Muff sits on its own private site in Ture, right beside Naomh Pádraig GAA pitch, 3km from Muff Village on the Inishowen Peninsula in Co. Donegal — at the start of the Wild Atlantic Way and the Causeway Coastal Route, overlooking Lough Foyle. There's a safe, walkable greenway connecting us to the village.
The Hideaway Muff, Ture, Muff, Inishowen, Co. Donegal F93 R8N1
A quick word about the name. The Hideaway is in Muff Village — a small, lovely village on the Inishowen Peninsula in Co. Donegal, right at the border with Northern Ireland. The name comes from the Irish "Magh", meaning a plain, and the village has been here since long before the word picked up any English-language meaning that might make a search engine blush. Locals are well used to the joke. Most guests forget about it by the time they've come down the lane.
Muff sits at the head of Lough Foyle, fifteen minutes from Derry city. It has its own pubs, a couple of shops, The Muff Liquor Company distillery five minutes away, and a safe walkable greenway connecting us straight into the village. It's a real village, not a holiday-park stop — guests who go for a wander tend to come back with a story about somebody they met.
A great base for visiting Derry. We're one of the easiest cross-border stays around — fifteen minutes from the Walls of Derry, the Guildhall, the Bogside murals and the city's restaurants and music venues. Guests come for a night out in Derry and head back to a quiet pod or the Shore House at the end of it, rather than waking up to traffic. Many guests use us as a Derry base for weddings, gigs, rugby internationals in Belfast, the Derry Halloween festival, and the Derry Walled City Marathon.
What's nearby (if you can bring yourself to leave). Most guests tell us that once they arrive, they don't really want to head back out — but if you do venture out, Inishowen has some of the loveliest beaches on the island. Kinnegoe Bay, Culdaff Beach, Stroove Beach and Stragill Beach (near Buncrana) are all within an easy drive and stay quiet even in summer. Wild Ireland, our local wildlife sanctuary with brown bears, wolves and monkeys, is fifteen minutes away — properly impressive for kids and adults alike. Ballyliffin Golf Club, hosting the 2018 Irish Open and home to two championship links courses, is twenty minutes. Malin Head, the most northerly point of Ireland and a Star Wars filming location, is forty minutes.
In and around the village. The Treehouse Restaurant in Muff Village for dinner. The Squealing Pig for a proper Donegal pub experience. Tank & Skinnys for coffee and a quiet morning. Claire the Baker's (CTB) Coffee Stop for coffee, scones, croissants, sausage rolls and acai bowls — a 1.5km walk from the gates, guests come back glowing. Borderland Muff for waterproofs, outdoor gear and footwear (handy if the Donegal weather catches you out).
How far is The Hideaway from Derry?
Fifteen minutes by car. We're just over the border in Muff Village, Co. Donegal — close enough for a night out in Derry, far enough that you'll sleep to nothing but the wind in the trees. City of Derry Airport is twenty-two minutes away.
Can we book the whole site for a group?
Yes. Full-site exclusive hire includes all four pods, the Shore House, An Bothan function room, the hot tub, the Shebeen and the gardens — sleeps up to twenty. Popular for hen weekends, milestone birthdays, family reunions, corporate retreats and wellness weekends. From €1,150 per night. See our group bookings for the full packages.
Are dogs welcome at The Hideaway?
Yes — small non-shedding dogs are welcome on both individual pod bookings and full-site stays. €25 per dog per stay, maximum two dogs per booking. Owners look after clean-up around the gardens, and dogs stay off beds and furniture. Mention your dog on enquiry and we'll have everything ready ahead of arrival.
What's the minimum stay?
Two nights — same year-round, whether you're booking midweek, weekends or peak season. The same applies to the pods, the Shore House and full-site buyouts.
Are children welcome?
Children are warmly welcomed on full-site exclusive bookings and standalone Shore House bookings — the site is fully gated and private once you're through the entrance. We're not currently set up for children on individual pod bookings.
Is breakfast included? Can we have catering arranged?
Pods and the Shore House are fully self-catering — there's a Stanley range and full kitchen in the Shore House, and a communal kitchen for pod guests. We don't run an on-site restaurant, but for full-site group bookings we work with local caterers who can do breakfasts, BBQ evenings, and full celebration dinners. Mention catering on enquiry and we'll set you up.

Pick a pod for a couple of nights, take the Shore House with friends, or book the whole site for your group. The gates open whenever you're ready.
