Most away days fall into one of two traps: a soulless hotel conference room that could be anywhere, or somewhere so "fun" it's hard to get anything done. The Away Day at The Hideaway is neither.
An Bothan — our dedicated function room — gives you a proper working space with a 75" smart TV, screen sharing and room for the whole team. The rest of the site gives you everything else: a covered hot tub, the Shebeen, the gardens, a fire pit and accommodation for up to 20. Strategy in the morning, team time in the afternoon, and an evening that people actually look forward to.
Fifteen minutes from Derry city and twenty-two from City of Derry Airport, it's easy to get to from across the North and the Republic. Private gated site, no other guests, no hotel bar to drift off to. Just your team, a clear programme, and somewhere worth going.

Exclusive use of the whole Hideaway, sleeping up to 20:
· An Bothan function room — 75" smart TV with screen sharing, set up for presentations, workshops and breakout sessions
· All four pods, each sleeping up to 3 — Rowan Tree, Cherry Blossom, Sleepy Lavender, Daisy Chain
· The Shore House — a restored 1895 period home sleeping up to 8, ideal for senior team members or guest speakers
· The covered seven-berth hot tub — for the end of the working day
· The Shebeen — BYOB bar with wood-burning stove, pool table, dart board, karaoke and smart TV
· The Wee Ceili House with open fire and pizza oven
· The BBQ, the fire pit and the grounds
· A private gated site — completely yours

Build your programme
We can help you build a programme around your team's needs — from a focused strategy day to a full two-night retreat with activities built in.
· Muff Liquor Company — we've partnered with the multi-award-winning distillery just five minutes down the road. A guided distillery tour and cocktail-making class makes a memorable team activity and a genuine talking point. Groups staying with us can enjoy a special rate — ask us for the details when you book.
· E-bikes to your door — Inishowen Bike Hire will drop their e-bikes to The Hideaway once you've booked. A guided or self-guided cycle along the peninsula is a great afternoon break between sessions.
· Team wellness session — a yoga or pilates instructor can come to An Bothan or the gardens for a morning or lunchtime session. A useful counterpoint to a day of screens and presentations.
· Working lunches and catering — from a casual working lunch in An Bothan to a full evening meal, we work with local caterers and private chefs. Just tell us what your programme needs.
· Flip chart, stationery and any AV setup — just ask when you enquire and we'll have it ready.

Away Day FAQs
Is An Bothan set up as a proper meeting room?
Yes. An Bothan has a 75" smart TV with screen sharing, comfortable seating for the whole group, and a private entrance. We can set it up with flip chart and stationery if you need it — just ask when you enquire.
Is there Wi-Fi on site?
Yes — free Wi-Fi is included across the whole site.
Can we do just one day, or is it overnight only?
Full-site exclusive hire is a minimum of two nights midweek. If you're looking for a single-day hire of An Bothan only, that's available separately — ask us and we'll talk through what works for your group.
How far is it from Derry?
Fifteen minutes from Derry city centre, twenty-two from City of Derry Airport, and around eighty minutes from Belfast International. Easy to get to from across the North and the Republic.
Can we mix working sessions with activities?
Absolutely — that's what most groups do. A typical programme might be: morning strategy session in An Bothan, working lunch, afternoon activity (distillery tour, e-bikes or a wellness session), evening BBQ or catered dinner, and a Shebeen session to finish the day. We can help you build a programme that actually works.
What's included in the site hire?
Everything: An Bothan, all four pods, the Shore House, the hot tub, the Shebeen, the Wee Ceili House, the BBQ and all grounds. Catering, activities and add-ons are separate and arranged on request.
