At the end of a quiet country lane on the Inishowen Peninsula, the gates open and you arrive at The Hideaway. Cherry Blossom is one of four pods at the site, and it's the one couples gravitate to. The covered hot tub is on the doorstep. The ancient fairy path through the gardens is a two-minute wander. Derry city is fifteen minutes away when you fancy it, and a world away when you don't.

The cherry blossom has always stood for something fleeting and a bit precious — a reminder to enjoy the soft moments while they're here. That's the feel of this pod. There's a softer light to it than the others, a few more romantic touches, and it's the one we recommend for anniversaries, the night before a wedding, a first proper getaway after a hard year, or just an unannounced weekend away when somebody needs one.

The pine interior is warm and snug, with the same characterful touches across all our pods — dreamcatchers, heart mirrors, fresh linen, gentle lighting — and a pop of colour in the rainbow heart by the window that catches the morning sun. A king-size bed and a single, heating, and your own quiet space to come back to. Small non-shedding dogs are welcome — bring them along, just mention them on enquiry.

Bathroom facilities are shared and just a few steps away. You'll also have the seven-berth covered hot tub with Bluetooth speaker, the Shebeen (our BYOB bar with pool table, dart board, karaoke and wood-burning stove), the Wee Ceili House outdoor area with pizza oven, the BBQ, and the enchanting gardens — fairy path, hawthorn tree, wildlife pond, healing well.

Cherry Blossom suits couples on a romantic break, two close friends sharing, or anyone who wants the softest pod on a quiet site. We're five minutes from The Muff Liquor Company, fifteen minutes from the Walls of Derry, and forty-five minutes from Malin Head, the most northerly point of Ireland. Minimum stay is two nights, year-round.

Yes — it's the pod we most often recommend for couples. The king-size bed is the main sleeping arrangement; the single is there if needed but most couples leave it for storage. Book early for weekends.

Can we have champagne or flowers waiting on arrival?

Is there a private outdoor area at Cherry Blossom?

Dogs stay off beds and furniture, and owners look after clean-up.
