Daisy Chain is one of four pods at The Hideaway, a hidden corner of the Inishowen Peninsula where the gates open onto gardens, a fairy path, and the kind of quiet that does most of the work for you. If Sleepy Lavender is our wind-down pod and Cherry Blossom is our romantic one, Daisy Chain is our cheerful one. The covered hot tub is a few steps away, the Shebeen is around the corner, and Derry city is fifteen minutes south when you fancy a wander in town.

There's a reason daisy chains are what most of us remember of being small — they're playful, easy, and don't ask anything of you. That's the feel we've leaned into here. Daisy Chain is the pod people book when they want proper craic, when two or three friends are getting together, or when a couple wants somewhere that doesn't take itself too seriously.

Inside, it's the same warm pine as the other pods, with a few touches that give it its own character — an "it's a beautiful day to let your dreams take flight" piece on the wall, a soft mushroom decoration that always gets a smile, rainbow hearts in the window, dreamcatchers along the curve of the ceiling. A king-size bed, a single, heating, lighting, fresh linen. Bathroom facilities are shared and a few steps away. Small non-shedding dogs are welcome — bring them along, just mention them on enquiry.

The wider Hideaway is yours: the seven-berth covered hot tub with Bluetooth speaker, the Shebeen (our BYOB bar with pool table, dart board, karaoke and wood-burning stove — built for nights that run on a bit longer than planned), the Wee Ceili House with open fire and pizza oven, the BBQ, communal kitchen, and the gardens with their fairy path, hawthorn tree, wildlife pond and healing well.

Daisy Chain suits three friends on a low-key weekend, a couple after somewhere unfussy and full of character, or a Wild Atlantic Way traveller looking for a base near Derry. We're five minutes from The Muff Liquor Company, fifteen minutes from the Walls of Derry, fifteen minutes from Wild Ireland, and forty-five minutes from Malin Head. Minimum stay is two nights, year-round.

Can three friends share Daisy Chain comfortably?

Yes — that's exactly what the bed setup is for. A king-size bed and a separate single bed, so two can share the double and one takes the single. Bring an eye mask if you're a light sleeper.

Can we play music at Daisy Chain?

Inside the pod, sure — at sociable hours. For proper craic, the Shebeen is a hundred yards away and has the karaoke machine, smart TV and Bluetooth setup. The Shebeen is where the late-night fun happens, not the pod itself, so neighbours get their sleep.

What's the minimum stay at Daisy Chain?

Two nights — same year-round, whether you're booking midweek, weekends or peak season.

Can we bring a dog to Daisy Chain?

Yes — small non-shedding dogs are welcome at all our pods. €25 per dog per stay, max two dogs per booking. Daisy Chain in particular has lovely garden access, so it's a popular choice for guests bringing a four-legged friend. Dogs stay off beds and furniture, and owners look after clean-up.
